Firstly, we at JDAC would all like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped, organised, shot, baked, lifted, carried, scored, organised, marshalled or just turned up and spectated. Without everyone's help and support, days like this just don't get off the ground, so a huge thanks to everyone! We all thought the day went really well and we hope you all did also.

Having said this would be a brief note, it's just now dawning on me just how much went into the day: Firstly, the shooting.

Scores are attached to this email showing all of the overall standings in each category as well as the 'special' prizes such as best golds and the infamous worst whites etc. A big thank you to Stu for putting this together for us. Hopefully it all makes sense and it's all correct, but please drop me a line and let me know if anything looks a bit out of kilter. A big well done to everyone who shot, whether you came away with a gong or not - you all did brilliantly.

Second, the raffle and the all-important cake stand. An enormous thank you to Sarah Quinton both for organising both and for agreeing to be our Lady Paramount for the day. I'm not sure about everyone else but I got stuck into the cakes and they were great! By the look of the mostly-empty tables at the end of the day, it looks as though everyone else got stuck in too.... Anyhow, although the day was obviously about the shooting in the main, both the raffle and the food was both a great success and invaluable from the point of view of putting the event on as well. I was hoping that we would 'break even', but I'm pleased to say that thanks to everyone's generosity the club not only cleared the costs of the day, but we also made enough extra that we have been able to fund both all of the target faces that the club will use through the indoor season, as well as a much-needed additional left-handed bow and sight. Both represent quite a significant outlay from club funds so to be able now to purchase both is a great achievement; thank you to everyone!

Finally, you may have noticed various people nipping about with cameras through the course of the day. A big thanks to everyone who has sent us photos that they took (most are much better than mine!). I've done my best to combine these and they will be posted on the website shortly. As you'll hopefully all be aware the membership form and weekly register both ask for consent for photos to be posted on the club's web page but if for any reason you'd like photos of you or any family members not to be posted, please drop us a line and let us know and we'll filter these out.

Thank you again to everyone for a fantastic day. One final point: we'll be looking to put something similar on again next summer (and may also invite a couple of other local clubs to attend) - is there anything you think we should do differently / anything additional we could have done? Any feedback will be gratefully received!

Thanks and regards,

Rich
