Beginners Course

The dates for our Winter course have now passed and our next scheduled club course is in Summer 2017.

Deben Archery Club are organizing a beginners course to be held at our Summer Shooting Venue to get people new to archery trained to club level and able to join Deben as a member. The course will consist of two weeks of coach lead training and 2 sessions of Supervised Practice. After these weeks everybody who has completed the course will be invited to join the club, subject to our normal membership rules and completion of an assessment, The club will provide all the equipment required to learn to shoot, safety equipment and insurance for the inclusive price of £60.

The cost of the course is £60, or £100 for a couple or parent & child over 14.

Everybody must complete the all of the Lessons on the planned dates, the supervised shooting sessions can be made-up on other club shooting on Tuesday evenings or Sunday mornings.

Provisional Dates for Course -         

    Sunday 14th May 2017 - 12:30 - 16:30 [4 Hours of Coach Led Learning]

    Sunday 21th May 2017 - 12:30 - 16:30 [4 Hours of Coach Led Learning]

     Supervised Sessions (any two of) 23rd May , 4th, 6th or 11th June 2017 [2 x 2 Hours of Senior Archer Led Practise]

    Due to Suffolk Show the club will not be meeting between the 28th May and 3rd June

Another local club Blue arrows and Northgate Sports Centre run beginner's course throughout the year.

And a local pro-shop Perris Archery offer beginner's lessons. Anyone who has completed a beginners course is welcome to join Deben subject to our normal membership rules.  

Juniors under 14 should join via the J:DAC Beginners course run at the start of each term
